Last evening’s Educational Awards Night was inspiring. Recognizing these students and educators who are so passionate about history is always motivating. I am in awe of these young people and their amazing work. The essay winners each read a portion of their essays and it was clear why they were chosen as our national winners! Congratulations to the 2019 Outstanding Junior, Melissa Wetzel! The...

Opening Night was such a captivating evening. Dean Malissa’s performance as George Washington was amazing. He has spent years researching our first president and continues to learn more every day. It was an honor to recognize and thank him for his commitment to preserving this very important piece of our history. Stop by the House table in Constitution Hall to sign a "Get Well" card for Mr...

After more than a year of research, conceptualization and design, we are excited to give a first look to our membership of the newly refreshed public-facing DAR logo today in anticipation of the official launch and celebration at DAR Continental Congress. Recently, the Banquet Hall underwent a complete restoration to repair damage and make it more historically accurate to 1911 when it was first used for DAR luncheons and gatherings. The room is notable, not just for its dramatic architecture but for the fact that the decorative paneling, and the plaster and the mahogany furniture are all original. Over the years, peeling paint and old water damage...
