Solar Panels Installed on Constitution Hall

I’ve been so consumed with preparations for Congress and sharing news about the exciting week ahead, but I wanted to take time today to share some other exciting news. The solar panel array installation on the roof of Constitution Hall is now complete!

This array provides an opportunity to reduce the National Society’s electric energy costs by $1 million over the next 25 to 30 years, while benefiting the environment at the same time. Because Constitution Hall is a Registered National Historic Landmark, special considerations had to be made when they were designing the array. The innovative solution they came up with ensures that we meet our structural conditions and historic preservation requirements. Please read the press release about the solar panels to learn more about this exciting announcement. You will be unable to see the solar panels from the ground but I’ve provided some photos from the installation and to show the array which will be right above many of you when you are here in Constitution Hall for Congress events next week.

This new advancement for our National Headquarters building is possible because of your donations to the President General’s Project. Thank you so much for your continued support of this wonderful project.
