I am so pleased to Welcome you to the 135th Continental Congress, taking place in our beautiful DAR Headquarters complex on the brink of America 250! in our Nation’s Capital. What an exciting time to participate in our annual gathering, as Congress will prove to Illuminate Our Legacy of accomplishments and shared purpose throughout this past year!
Many special events are planned for the week that you won’t want to miss! As always, Registration Badges are required for entry to the DAR buildings – make sure to visit the We The People Dining Hall upon your arrival to check in and receive your registration materials. Please download the DAR Continental Congress App available in the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android) released last week, and update to include events you wish to attend from the Congress Schedule! The Congress Herald is published each day during Congress, and is a great resource for additional information; find it readily on the App or on the Congress Website here. Members have enjoyed staying connected on the Continental Congress Daughters Online Community (DOC) to share tips and ask real time questions as they prepare for a wonderful week!
A special thank you to President General, Ginnie Sebastian Storage, the Executive Committee, and our dedicated DAR Headquarters Team, for their exceptional planning and commitment to ensuring a successful Congress. Myself, our three National Vice Chairs, 32 Congress Chairs, over 900 Committee Volunteers and 400 Pages look forward to seeing you! Please be sure to take in all the amazing renovation work around our buildings, especially in Memorial Continental Hall and enjoy each other’s company throughout the week!
While you attend sessions and events between Headquarters the J.W. Marriott, the Official Congress Hotel, may you renew friendships, “Blossom” with new ones, and feed your patriotic spirit with your fellow members.
