As our dedicated team of genealogists at National Headquarters works to review and approve application papers, we are constantly looking at ways to improve our skill sets and showcase DAR’s genealogical resources to a wider audience.
One of the ways we accomplish this is through attending, tabling, and sponsoring, various genealogical conferences throughout the country. Below is a list of conferences that DAR Genealogy and Library staff will be attending in 2026:
- March 5-7, 2026 - RootsTech – Salt Lake City, UT
- Run by FamilySearch, this annual conference is for all levels of genealogists! Attendees can choose from over 250 classes to build their skills , and interact with over 100 different exhibitors, including the DAR!
- DAR is a Society Sponsor of this event.
- May 27-30, 2026 - National Genealogical Society – Fort Wayne, IN
- Join the NGS for their annual Family History Conference. In recognition of the Semi quincentennial Anniversary, their theme is America at 250. The conference will shine a light on the stories, communities, and research strategies that help us understand the nation’s past. It will also focus on how genealogists can preserve our family histories for the future.
- DAR Staff will be tabling at and attending this conference!
- October 18-20, 2026 – International Conference on Jewish Genealogy – VIRTUAL
- This annual conference hosted by the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies aims to bring together the newest research on Jewish genealogy – offering programs and research services for attendees.
- DAR staff and members have sponsored and supported this conference for the last 2 years. Find a blog about the 2025 conference in Fort Wayne HERE.
For any in person conferences, please feel free to stop by the DAR table to pick up your DAR member ribbon for your conference badge! For the virtual conferences, feel free to reach out to DAR Staff in attendance via online means. We are always happy to say hello.
DAR Staff will of course also be at DAR’s own Genealogical Research Institute from May 4-6, 2026. Registration is now open and we hope to see you there.
We are looking forward to celebrating the 250th anniversary of our nation with more genealogical connections than ever!
