Congress Communications Committee and Congress Social Media

Lynn Young, President General

We are really starting to ramp up for Continental Congress! I can’t wait to welcome many of you to Washington, D.C. later this month and hope you will enjoy all we have in store for you this year.

To help get you excited for Congress and to keep you informed during the week’s activities, the Congress Communications Committee is launching all new social media for the event!  You can start following Continental Congress now on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. When you are posting about Congress on your own personal social media sites leading up to or during the week of Congress, be sure to use the hashtag #DARCC14 to share your Congress posts with others.

This year, the new Congress Communications Committee will be combining the efforts of the past Congress Online and Congress Public Relations Committees. The Congress Communications Committee’s responsibilities include providing press release services for Congress attendees, taking and sharing photos online of the events of the week, updating the new Congress social media platforms, and creating and distributing the Congress Herald.

Another update this year is that the Herald will no longer be printed, but rather will be available for viewing online and an email will go to all Congress attendees each morning directing members to access that day’s edition.

I’m excited for all the fun, informative, and engaging information that the Congress Communications Committee will be sharing with us and hope you will enjoy and share the information they provide!

See you at #DARCC14
