Thanks to the overwhelming success of the Reinstatement Fee Waiver Initiative, we are pleased to announce that the program has been extended through the end of the Storage Administration or until 5,000 reinstatements have been processed, whichever comes first.
The response to this initiative has been extraordinary. In 2025, DAR experienced a record number of member reinstatements, demonstrating that many former members are eager to reconnect with our Society. This remarkable success has reaffirmed the value of reducing barriers for those wishing to return and continue their DAR journey.
Extending the initiative supports one of the Storage Administration's key membership goals:
Increase membership by enhancing meaningful experiences for new and existing members while actively pursuing the reinstatement of former members
Through this initiative, the $10 reinstatement fee is covered by National for eligible former members who reinstate their membership during the promotional period. Members are still responsible for paying the applicable National, state, chapter, and any other required dues associated with reinstatement.
How to Take Advantage of the Initiative:
Chapters are encouraged to identify and reach out to former members who may be interested in returning to DAR and share this opportunity.
Reinstating is quick and easy:
- Simply contact your chapter to submit your dues payment. If you wish to find a new chapter that better fits your needs and interests, use the Chapter Locator, contact your state society, or request assistance for personalized guidance.
- Prefer to return as a Member-at-Large? Complete the Dues Remittance and Reinstatement Form (OSG-1003) and send it with your $72 national dues to the Office of the Organizing Secretary General.
The initiative will remain available through the end of the Storage Administration or until 5,000 reinstatements have been processed, whichever occurs first. Eligible former members are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued efforts to welcome members back to DAR. Every reinstatement strengthens our Society and helps preserve our shared mission of historic preservation, education, and patriotism for future generations.
