Compelling Photos of DAR Members Needed

As we promote our organization to the public in promotional materials and other avenues, we are always searching for quality professional photos of our vibrant membership in action – showing what DAR members do.

In particular right now, we are in need of fresh new professional photos of our members, as we are in the process of redesigning the DAR Public Website.

There are two ways members can help, either by participating in a photo shoot at Headquarters or sending in your compelling photos to Headquarters. You can learn more details about these projects from this Members’ Announcement here.

We are hosting a photo shoot at DAR Headquarters and all members are invited to attend. On Saturday, March 1, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. members are invited to DAR Headquarters in Washington, D.C. to take part in a professional photo shoot. There will be a variety of different photos taken throughout the day and there will also be a service activity in which members can participate. More information about the photo shoot can be found on the Members’ Website. Those who are interested in attending should RSVP to [email protected] by February 24. More detailed instructions regarding the photo shoot will be emailed to those who have responded that they will be attending.

In addition to the photo shoot at Headquarters, members, chapters and states are encouraged to submit their own professional quality photos of members in action to DAR. Perhaps you have a friend or neighbor who is a photographer or you are familiar with a photographer in your local area. Invite them to a special DAR event you are hosting or invite them along as you are doing a community service project and ask them to take photos. The most compelling photos are those which show members in action. If you are interested in submitting photos and are looking for more information, please read through the information in the Members’ Announcement.

I look forward to seeing your in-action photos of all the amazing DAR work you are doing!
