Hello Daughters and Friends of DAR. It is my great pleasure to share some very exciting news!
For the first time in the history of our National Society, DAR has been approved as an official charity by the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), which means this year, DAR will be able to participate in one of the largest and most successful workplace charity campaigns in the world.
The CFC connects federal employees and retirees with the causes they care about most. Throughout its 60-year history, the CFC has helped the federal community raise over $8.7 billion for charity (over $70 million alone in 2023).
Now, DAR can tap into this massive wellspring of support from the millions of federal employees, postal workers, members of the armed services, and retirees who give so generously each campaign season.
With these funds, we can continue our critical work preserving history, fostering patriotism, and educating future leaders about the Patriots who founded our great country and the values that inspired them.
Here’s How You Can Help
The CFC campaign will launch on September 1, 2024 and run through January 15, 2025.
After the campaign officially launches, there are many ways to give. For example, a contributor to the CFC can make a donation through a payroll deduction, a recurring donation by credit card, or a one-time donation through the CFC website or mobile app.
Of course, we will also have the CFC click-through logo on our website and in various other places to make it easy for people to find DAR and contribute.
If you are a federal employee, there are a number of ways you can support this campaign.
- Beginning on September 1, you can contribute to DAR through the CFC with your donations qualifying you for DAR’s various giving societies.
- You can serve as a DAR CFC champion within your federal workplace.
- You may also be able to serve as a DAR champion at regional CFC events.
- You may also share this blog with your friends and family to encourage them to make donations through the campaign.
Of course, all Daughters and friends of DAR can help us spread the word about this important campaign, and encourage the federal community to support it. (Be sure to follow DAR CFC announcements on Facebook and Twitter.)
