The 135th Continental Congress App

The 135th Continental Congress is fast approaching, and I am delighted to share more updates about our upcoming annual conference with you today.

The Congress App
The 135th Continental Congress App is now available! For those travelling to Washington, DC later this month, please download the Congress App to your smartphone or tablet to have the most up-to-date Congress information at your fingertips. To download the Congress App, search the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android) for “DAR Continental Congress” and download the App. If you already have the App downloaded on your device from last year, when you open it, select the 135th Congress version.

From the App, you can access the overall Congress Schedule, maps and important information. Member attendees will be able to log in with your Congress Registration information to set up your personal profile, personal Congress schedule, and connect with other attendees.

Updates and information will continue to be released on the Congress App leading up to and during Congress.

**Especially with the many events occurring in DC for the Semiquincentennial, please be sure to enable push notifications on the Congress App to receive important timely messages regarding potential road closures, event changes, or other logistics during Congress week!**

Updates and information will continue to be released on the Congress App leading up to and during Congress.

Please note: In order to be able to download the App, your phone requires the iOS 14 or higher operating system for iPhones or Android 10 and higher operating system for Android.

Vice President General and Honorary Vice President General elections are performed on a different platform and not on the Congress App, so if you are unable to download the App, it will not affect your ability to vote via the Simply Voting platform.

Continental Congress Honorees
As we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of our nation’s founding, we will have special presentations and honor some wonderful award recipients at this year’s Continental Congress Opening Night. Special recognition will be paid to The American Revolution documentary from the filmmaking team of Ken Burns, Sarah Bottstein, and David Schmidt. An expansive look at the virtues and contradictions of the war and the birth of the United States of America, the film follows dozens of figures from a wide variety of backgrounds. Through their individual stories, viewers experience the war through the memories of the men and women who experienced it. Additionally, Ken Burns will be recognized with the DAR Medal of Honor for his decades of work telling stories of America’s history.

During National Defense Night, we will commemorate the 25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001

During National Defense Night, we will commemorate the 25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001, and specifically honor the organizations and individuals that work to preserve the memories of those lost, support families still affected, and shape the future narrative of 9/11 around remembrance through service. We are honored to have the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, NYC Office of the Medical Examiner World Trade Center DNA Identification Team, VOICES Center for Resilience and 9/11 Day join us for this special commemoration.

You can learn more about all of this year’s deserving award recipients on the Honoree section of the Congress Website and on the Congress App.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the 135th Continental Congress on the eve of our nation’s 250th Anniversary!
