July 2025 Executive Board Week Recap

Marguerite Fritsch, Organizing Secretary General
Cherry Blossom Luncheon

Following the National Board of Management cherry blossom lunch and meeting, with laptops up and print drivers installed, the new Executive Committee led by Ginnie Sebastian Storage, President General was ready to get down to work for the National Society. It was both informative and inspiring to hear the reports of the Senior Directors of the various departments around headquarters. We received more details about the accomplishments and vision of each area.

Storage Administration Executive Board

The Executive Officers were able to get settled in their office space and meet the headquarters team that they will be working with to illuminate the legacy of DAR. Our dedicated employees are engaged and feel purpose in their work. On Tuesday, we all enjoyed a fabulous employee breakfast. It was wonderful to share this delicious meal and meet and get to know more of the team members. We were able to share our gratitude for the hard work and extra hours given making the 134th Continental Congress a sparkling success.

 Property Beautification & Hospitality Committee

Next, the Executives formulated some of the initial ideas and programs of the committees and offices for the Storage Administration. These will be implemented over the coming weeks and months. Although the days were long, they were well spent! We did have time to explore the buildings more and share fellowship with each other.

During the week, the Executive enjoyed wonderful lunches provided by the Property Beautification & Hospitality Committee, Holly Taylor National Chair. Not only was the food outstanding, but the decorations were also beautiful!

President General Storage participated in an interview with BBC Radio

Our President General participated in an interview with BBC Radio that will be aired on July 4, 2026. She enjoyed showing the reporters our House Beautiful and explained why the holiday is so important to us as Americans as well as DAR members.

The week came to an end by joining 100 DAR members from across the country to march in the Independence Day Parade down Constitution Avenue. The group carried three large American flags in the parade. The patriotism was palpable as marching bands, reenactors, school groups, and the DAR marched to celebrate the 249th birthday of the United States of America. At the end of the parade, we gathered at our Founders Monument for a group photo and cool refreshments. What a wonderful way to celebrate the 4th of July!
