The Power of Education: A Night to Remember at the Education Awards

Pamela Wright, President General
Opening Ceremonies

Daughters, you truly sparkled last night! Your energy and presence set the perfect tone for my final Congress as President General, and I am deeply grateful. From the heartfelt words of our honorees and distinguished guests to the stirring patriotic performances, it was an evening filled with inspiration and camaraderie—a memory I will cherish. The excitement from last night’s festivities will certainly carry me through today’s business session, where we will hear important reports from our Executive Officers.

This evening, we will gather once again to honor the remarkable achievements of our Essay and Video Essay Contest winners, representing a range of grades, as well as celebrate the Outstanding Teacher of American History and the 2025 DAR Good Citizen. The enchanting voices of the DAR All American Chorus will grace us before we meet the finalists of our Outstanding Junior contest—an event not to be missed.

I hope you all enjoy a delightful afternoon, whether you are attending the Historic Preservation Luncheon, the Units Overseas Luncheon and Bazaar, the D.C. Women’s History Tour, the Golden West Tea, or any of the many wonderful events on our schedule. I am especially looking forward to joining the Virginia Luncheon and the Pennsylvania Dazzling Daisy Tea following our morning session.
