Today brought a profoundly moving moment for me personally, as I experienced the reveal and dedication of my official portrait as President General. Now hanging outside the Texas Room, I am reminded of my chapter’s Organizing Regent, Ella Hutchins Sydnor, who chose the location over a century ago. I am honored that the Texas Society chose Gladys Roldan-de-Moras as the artist. Inspired by turn-of-the-century Spanish painters, her impressionist art is both romantic and historic. Heartfelt thanks to the Texas Daughters for this meaningful symbol of an unforgettable chapter in my life, one I will always hold dear.
I am honored to attend the Gift Acceptance Ceremony hosted by our Office of Development, where we expressed gratitude to those who have so generously donated physical treasures to the Society. Later this evening, I look forward to attending the Illinois Supper, offering greetings at the National Vice Chairmen's Association Annual Meeting and Dinner, and ending the day on a delightfully sweet note at Sparkling Sundaes with C.A.R.
All across Congress today, energy and enthusiasm are shining brightly! From the Junior Membership 5K to the virtual Scavenger Hunt hosted by the Northeast Division, from the Flag Raising Ceremony to the DAR Library Orientation, there is something for everyone. Each activity offers a unique opportunity to connect, learn, and celebrate the shared mission that unites us.

In the Texas Lone Star Lounge, discover an array of delightful specialty vendors at the Congress Shops. The Sparkle Showroom at the JW Marriott also features the President General’s Project Sales, and don’t miss the DAR Store on the lower level of the Administration Building.
With so many Daughters gathered at our beloved House Beautiful in Washington, D.C., we would love to take the opportunity to capture the heart and spirit of our Society—you, our members!
