The theme of the Snow Administration was to challenge every Daughter to be a Beacon of the American Spirit. In honor of our President General Pamela Wright, we used that theme to raise funds for her project. The total raised through chapter donations, a percentage of the proceeds from our Junior’s Wisconsin Doll fundraiser, State Regent’s scarf sales, a drawing for two paintings (sunrise and day’s end at the Fond du Lac Light, painted by Susan Snow, sister of the State Regent and Illinois Daughter), and sales of note cards of the paintings was just over $14,000 for the President General’s Project. This ‘beacon’, the Fond du Lac Light in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin is a beautiful symbol of how the spirit of our Daughters can be as significant as a lighthouse – guiding and mentoring in sunny or stormy days to serve our mission.
At this State Conference, the Society enjoyed record attendance, incredible guests including Lisa Melland, Connecticut DAR State Regent, DAR Development, the DAR Insignia Team, and the celebration of awards. We cheered for our DAR Good Citizen, American History Essay and Video Contest Winners, Literacy Promotion high achievers, Outstanding Volunteer Genealogists, VIS of the Year, Helen Pouch Classroom Grant recipients, and Historic Preservation Recognition Award winners.
Finally, we elected officers of the Wisconsin State Board of Management 2025-2028. The Wisconsin delegation is excited about the talents these newly elected officers will bring to our 1560 members. We celebrate the mission of DAR as Wisconsin Daughters show they are Beacons of the American Spirit.
