Today's DAR
It was lovely to be with the Oklahoma Daughters for their Fall Workshop in Oklahoma City. A special delight was spending time with Pat McFall, Past Registrar General. I enjoyed exploring some of the local sites and hearing about the important work of our OK chapters. Special thanks to Oklahoma State Regent Grace Ellsworth for her hospitality and leadership, Teresa Cales for providing my transportation and my Pages Brigitte Bode and Victoria Nielsen.

Oklahoma members had the best time visiting with President General Pamela Rouse Wright. We began with a Wednesday night casual buffet dinner and ended a very special time together visiting in the Green Country Hospitality Room.
On Thursday morning, the 2024 Fall Workshop began. Mrs. Wright and visiting guest, Oregon State Regent Martha Burrel, were treated to a tour by Honorary State Regent, Sharel Sue McAdoo, which included the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum and the Oklahoma City National Memorial Museum. Lunch was at the Historic Cattlemen’s Steakhouse in Stockyards City
Heritage Club and Founders Club Daughters were treated to an afternoon Tea hosted by Sandra Pollack from the Development Office. Mrs. Wright was generous enough to pose with each attendee for a picture after which she thanked Daughters for their support and explained some continued needs of Memorial Continental Hall.
A photo session followed by all Daughters getting the opportunity to have their pictures taken with our President General. After dinner on Thursday evening, we enjoyed the informative program presented by Mrs. Wright. Everyone appreciated hearing of the improvements being made through the President General’s Project to restore Memorial Continental Hall back to its former glory. The 145 Army Jazz Band with Andy Brooks conducting entertained us with songs. The receiving line offered the opportunity for everyone to greet and thank our President General Pamela Wright for all she is doing for our National Society. We bid farewell to Mrs. Wright as she left early Friday morning for her next state visit.
Our Fall Workshop continued on Friday with our State Officers and Chairs giving instructions to the membership. We were surprised by the attendance of Marquis de Lafayette while he was on his travels throughout the 24 states. He will be touring with us throughout this year.
