Happy Congress to all! Let me be the first to welcome you all to our Historic National Headquarters for the 133rd Continental Congress.
Pre-registered attendees may check in on-site at Registration in the We the People Dining Hall from 11 a.m. through 6 p.m. today. At Registration, each attendee receives her welcome packet, which includes her name badge. A reminder that after getting your registration materials, you MUST have your ID badge with you at all times to enter the building.
Refer to your Congress packet and the Congress App to find maps and information for all our exciting events this week. Didn’t have a chance to pre-register, and still wish to attend? Just head down to the We the People Dining Hall in the lower level of the Administration Building for on-site registration!
Regardless of how many times you’ve visited our National Headquarters, there is always more to see! I encourage you to explore our House Beautiful – visit the new exhibition Sewn in America in the DAR Museum, research in the DAR Library, and view (from afar!) the restoration work being completed in Memorial Continental Hall. Stop by the Pennsylvania Foyer to view the wonderful American Revolution Experience Traveling Exhibit on display! Please also take time to get to know and thank our talented DAR staff members who work tirelessly throughout the year to further the DAR mission.
Though our official opening ceremony is still two days away, it has been wonderful to connect with friends new and old as attendees begin arriving in D.C. Today I was honored to participate in the Daughters Tribute Wreath Laying and the National Board of Management meeting before the start of Congress. This evening will be filled with conversation and camaraderie at the National Officers Club Banquet.
