DAR Today Podcast Is Updating Its Format!

Brooke Bullmaster Stewart, National Chair, DAR Today Podcast Committee

Diverse American Patriots, amazing DAR chapter work, National Officer features, and so much more, the DAR Today Podcast, as with all good things, is updating its format. Beginning the first Monday in February, and mirroring our fast-paced lives, podcast episodes will be weekly, shorter, and highly accessible. Additionally, a new monthly opt-in email from the Committee will contain easy-to-use hyperlinks to the previous month’s weekly “snapshot” programs. Sign up for these emails here. The possible uses of these shorter program features are endless:

  • Drop one into the digital version of your monthly chapter newsletter
  • Incorporate one or more into chapter officer training, committee chair training or brainstorming meetings
  • Use as last-minute program content during chapter meetings
  • Provide inspiration during a special event or new/prospective member tea by spotlighting service or national leadership.

Inserting a link into a reply email to a prospective member opens the door to the incredible world of DAR patriotism and service.

Be sure to check out all of the past Executive Board and Committee Chair interviews, Patriot Profiles and American history segments that are now resources from which to draw upon! Remember our first Patriot profile about the female Patriots of Edenton, North Carolina? What an incredible story of bravery, courage and commitment! There are also wonderful segments that you can share with your chapter about our beloved Memorial Continental Hall, our President General’s Project for this administration. And what about our discussions with our Project Patriot National Chair Peggy Whitcomb or our visits with America 250 National Chair Kathyrn Walker West? Think of all of these segments as resources for you and your chapter to use when educating not only your chapter members but your prospective members!

A fun idea for Chapter Regents: as an activity at chapter meetings, ask your chapter a question about something that was in the podcast! The first person to get it correct wins a prize! For example, “What ‘hidden talent’ was revealed by our Recording Secretary General, Lanabeth Horgan, during her interview this past year” or “When was the Library Outreach Committee formed?” What a fun way to reiterate the engaging things happening in our society. Encourage your members to get more involved in the podcast and all that we can learn from its episodes!

The DAR Today Podcast Committee is thrilled to bring you this new weekly format, encapsulating shorter spotlight programs that promise to both inspire and engage.
