2024 Congress App is Launched and Honorees Announced!

Pamela Wright, President General

The 133rd Continental Congress App is now available! Download the Congress App to your smartphone or tablet to have the most up-to-date Congress information at your fingertips. From the app, you can access the Congress Schedule, maps, create your own personalized schedule, and read about speakers and honorees. We will be honoring some amazing award recipients at this year’s Continental Congress, including Librarian of Congress Dr. Carla Hayden, during Opening Night and Admiral Linda Fagan, Commandant of the United States Coast Guard our keynote speaker for National Defense Night.

Dr. Hayden is the 14th Librarian of Congress and the first woman and African American to lead it. She was first appointed in 2016 and has served through the administrations of President Obama, President Trump and President Biden. With a desire to connect all Americans to the Library of Congress, she improved and modernized its mission “to engage, inspire and inform Congress and the American people with a universal and enduring source of knowledge and creativity.” Dr. Hayden accomplished making the Library more accessible to the public through her social media presence, events, and activities. People can see items from the Library of Congress’ extensive collection even if they have never been to Washington, D.C.

In her nearly four decades in the Coast Guard, Admiral Fagan has served on all seven continents, from the snows of Ross Island, Antarctica to the heart of Africa, from Tokyo to Geneva, and in many ports along the way. As the first woman to serve as Commandant of the United States Coast Guard, she oversees all global Coast Guard operations and 42,000 active-duty, 7,000 reserve, and 8,700 civilian personnel, as well as the support of 21,000 Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers.

You can learn more about all of this year’s amazing award recipients on the Honoree section of the Congress Website and on the Congress App.

To download the Congress App, search the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android) for “DAR Continental Congress” and download the app. If you already have the app downloaded on your device from last year, when you open it, select the 133rd Congress version.

Please note: In order to be able to download the app, your phone requires the iOS 14 or higher operating system for iPhones or Android 10 and higher operating system for Android. You may try to update your phone to the latest operating system in your phone settings, but if your phone is too old to do this, you will not be able to download the app. We apologize if this is the case. However, you will be able to access all Congress schedules and maps in your welcome packet when you arrive at Congress. Congress ballot voting is performed on a different platform and not on the Congress App, so if you are unable to download the app, it will not affect your ability to vote via the SimplyVoting platform.

Be sure to enable push notifications on the Congress App to receive important timely messages during Congress week!

Updates and information will continue to be released on the Congress App leading up to and during Congress. We can’t wait to welcome you to the 133rd Continental Congress!
