As noted in last week’s Congress blog post, new platforms and updated procedures have been developed to separate and streamline the Credentials and Registration procedures for the upcoming 131st Continental Congress. Both will now be conducted primarily online, and improvements will speed and simplify your on-site check-in as we leverage technology to modernize these functions. Here are some additional details on what you need to know as we begin the Credentials process, followed later in the spring by the Registration process:
More Details: Updated Congress Credentials and Registration Procedures
Online Credentials
- Chapter Regents will receive emailed instructions for completing Credentials via an online form in e-Membership. Note that this Credentials process has been separated from Registration and no longer includes pre-payment of any fees.
- Chapter Regents have from February 15–April 15, 2022, to complete the online Credentials form identifying the elected delegates and alternates who will serve as voters at the 131st Continental Congress. Per the National Society’s bylaws, these online Credential forms must be completed before midnight on April 15, 2022.
- Those members who are credentialed delegates must individually Register themselves online (or on-site at Congress) and pay their own Registration fee to serve as a delegate. (Chapters may choose to reimburse their delegates as per their chapter bylaws or practices for this fee.)
Online Pre-Registration
- All members will individually Register themselves at their convenience via the Congress Website and pay the non-refundable, non-transferable Registration fee online with a credit card.
- Online Pre-Registration for Congress will take place at www.dar.org/Congress between April 15–June 1, 2022.
- The non-refundable and non-transferable Congress Pre-Registration fee will be $50. The fee for members to Pre-Register non-member guests online is $25.
- Members must pay their own Registration fees in order to Pre-Register online. Members may register and pay on-site during the week of Congress, but Registration fees will be higher (see below).
On-Site Check-In
- All members and guests who Pre-Register online must check in at DAR Headquarters in the We The People Dining Hall during established hours on June 27–July 1, 2022.
- All delegates who are credentialled by their chapter as voters must attend Congress in person in order to be able to cast their ballots during Congress.
- After checking in on site, those who are delegates will subsequently receive an email with the information and password necessary to vote on Saturday morning.
- Any delegate who checks in onsite during the week of Congress but has to permanently leave the Congress shall report to the Credentials Committee so that an alternate can assume her status as delegate for the remainder of Congress upon clearance by the Credentials Committee.
On-Site Registration
- Members and guests who did not Pre-Register online may Register and pay on-site during set hours on June 27-July 1, 2022.
- The On-site Registration fee will be $100. The fee for members to register non-member guests on-site will also be $100 per guest.
- While On-site Registration and payment is available during the week of Congress, we encourage everyone to Pre-Register online prior to June 1, 2022 to take advantage of the lower Pre-Registration fees and to help us better anticipate the number of attendees.
- On-site Check-in and Registration will be held in the lower level of DAR Headquarters in the We The People Dining Hall. Kiosks and other upgraded technology will be used to expedite the on-site check in process. Stay tuned for more information about this upgraded process.
