Welcome New Today's DAR Blog Subscribers

Denise Doring VanBuren, President General

Happy New Year! My New Year’s wish for 2021 is good health for each of you and a return to normalcy for our nation and our world. It’s time to put a challenging year behind us and look forward to the day when we will join together once again to continue to fulfill the important work of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

As part of my ongoing desire to help members stay connected to our National Society and its exciting momentum, future editions of the “Today’s DAR Blog” will be delivered to all Daughters for whom we have current email addresses on file. These short, easy-to-read blogs arrive several times a week and contain the latest news and current priorities of the National Society, and future installments will now be delivered to all members’ inbox to be read at their convenience.

In the past, members were required to sign up to receive these communications. Many of you have been subscribers for many years – some since its inception as the President General’s Blog during the Administration of Merry Ann T. Wright. You have been receiving the blog posts in your email inbox, and so you already appreciate the importance of these updates to your engaged membership.

For those of you who have not previously subscribed to the Today’s DAR Blog – welcome! I hope the information shared will help you learn more about all the great things happening in our organization in order to better appreciate its vibrancy and the value of your membership. Check out prior installments on our blog website at blog.dar.org to understand the wide range of topics covered.

As you will see, the Today’s DAR Blog features content from a variety of authors on different mission-driven subjects. Some topics cover important news or updates from National Headquarters; others share information on committee initiatives, resources and ways you can become more involved in DAR; and some installments are simply fun, interesting stories about our members and our organization.

Prefer not to receive the Today’s DAR Blog emails in your inbox? Simply click the unsubscribe button at the bottom of a blog email at any time. I do hope, however, that you will stay subscribed – even if your busy schedule keeps you from reading two-three emails week, you will have easy access to return to your inbox and read them at your convenience. I ask you to please give it a try – I think these blog posts will help you feel better informed and enthused about our important mission. Staying connected has never been more important as we move forward in service to our nation in the months ahead.

I often hear from members that the Today’s DAR Blog posts keep them engaged, excited and involved in the work of our Society. I am confident that these communications will add value to your membership, too. Please give them a try. And please let me know your thoughts and suggestions for future blog topics by commenting using the “Send Us a Comment” link at the bottom of any blog post email.

Now, on to the exciting possibilities of 2021 – we have so much to do as we together Rise and Shine for America!
