Why do YOU love DAR?

Ginger: Being able to meet ladies from all over, serve my community, and history! I love history! So proud to be a DAR daughter                      

Vanessa: I love the DAR because we make a difference in so many ways. Protecting and preserving the heart and soul of America. With joy and a spirit that lasts a lifetime.

Vickie: Honoring our Patriots and family history. Unity and sisterhood of the common goal of love of country and love of compassion and volunteering.

Marjorie: DAR has enabled me to explore parts of my personal family history and document those for future generations. It has allowed me to be a part of an organization where I can support our country, our history, and members of our military currently serving and those who have served in the past. And, one of the best parts about DAR is that I have made friends in my state and chapter, as well as in other chapters in this country and around the world. I feel very blessed to be a part of this organization!

Kathy: A thousand different reasons too, and so proud we support service members, but I most love the opportunity to talk family history with like-minded, smart women who share that historical research passion.

Marilyn: As a vet myself, I love how we support the military

Dianne: Service to and for others is the most rewarding experience. Add learning about the amazing sacrifices our ancestors made while forming the nation, and you have so many opportunities to enjoy being with other fun and dedicated women who love the same things. 

Sue: We are a sisterhood of amazing women with so much to offer our community. No matter what your interest or passion DAR has something for you. I joined with no preconception except that I had an ancestor then I discovered this whole selfless world of service for the nation, local community, and our military. Consider how much we accomplish every year!

Anne: The way women come together to support education, historic preservation and patriotism - regardless of background, culture and creed or color. We are truly a family blessed.

Donna: I came up through C.A.R. so joining was always my plan. I think the support I received while I was an active duty service member, especially during a time as unpopular as Vietnam meant everything to me.

Sandra: I too have always been very proud to belong to an organization that promotes God, Home and Country! I love the fact that we do all of these things in our community daily and are not just a social organization. The veterans are close to my heart… 

Terry: I am eligible to join other lineage organizations, but the service we do for others attracted me to DAR.

KE: I love supporting the veterans and making friends. I also like the challenges that come with leadership and service.

Vannetta: My love for DAR comes in many forms. The opportunity to help the veterans, the ability to work with great ladies in my community and beyond, and the friendships I have made. But my biggest joy of all is Reorganizing our C.A.R. and teaching children 

Patsy: I love DAR because of the people I have met, the values DAR holds and the projects they support. God, Home, and Country strike a chord with me. Historic Preservation, Education, and Patriotism are important to me and I hope I can pass that love on ….

Sue: Honoring God, Home, and Country. Recognizing that ALL is important. Military service, service to others, history, and preservation, conservation, even bees and butterflies. We are to be good stewards of our people and land.

Nancy: DAR is wonderful because it is a non-political, yet patriotic volunteer organization for women who descend from Patriots from the American Revolution

Sandie: The many opportunities afforded by membership have allowed me to use my unique talents to support and enrich my community and country; the committees encompass so many facets of our lives that through the years I've learned a lot as well.

Darlene: It is an Honor to support our Military who serve our Nation and to Remember those who have Served in the Revolutionary War to bring us where we are today bringing us our history of becoming a DAR to honor our Patriots

Nancy: DAR is about GIVING - give of yourself, your time, your talent, giving your love to the community - all without a thought of compensation.

JaLaine: Hands down, it is the opportunity to support those in uniform who preserve and protect what I consider to be my greatest inheritance!

Katie: Volunteering for the community runs in my family. I love working with others (of all ages) to make a positive impact. I joined DAR in 2003 and my first love was being literacy chair since I was tutoring outside DAR anyway, it was a great fit.

Belinda: I love DAR because no matter where I go, I meet a new instant friend who is Daughter. We have so much in common before we ever open our mouths. 

Nicky: I love DAR because it allows me to serve. Serving is my calling and I have never been a part of an organization that has so many facets to offer opportunities to serve. … 

Tammy: Since we are such a mobile society now, and new careers and options take us to new towns now more than ever, DAR is a way to instantly plug you into a network of like-minded women. It has helped me transition into my new community each time I move. 

Mary: I am also proud that we support our active military and our veterans. I am an educator so I am also proud we support our students and teachers.

Kecia: The journey I am taking to learn my heritage, my pride in my Patriots, and the best: HISTORIC PRESERVATION. And I love all my DAR friends.

Lynda: I love honoring our veterans and I love the connections with like-minded women. I love what a force of nature we can be together and when an unsuspecting person finds that out for the first time.

Donna: I believe in the mission of DAR. It represents the best of us.

Roberta: Because I get to work with smart women who are committed to doing important work to improve our country and our communities.

Leah: From my first meeting as a PM, I felt like I’d come home to a family of sisters I never realized I had! To be in the company of this group of dedicated and patriotic women is awe inspiring and a real blessing.

Carol: For me, it is values. Honoring the memories of those who went before us and worked to build our nation; a desire to preserve our heritage for future generations; and meeting other strong, like minded women who have an appreciation of history… 

Janey: I agree with everything mentioned and I especially love that this it is an organization of women from all walks of life, including all ages.

Donna: I love DARs dedication to service. Service to veterans, communities, family and each other!

Cheryl: I love DAR because it connects me to a long line of patriots; it gives me a chance to do community service; as a former teacher, DAR gives me a venue in which I can continue to educate and donate to worthy causes.
