Recapping the DAR Insignia Store Launch

Denise Sammarco, DAR Insignia Store Director

The first orders from the DAR Insignia Store began to head out the doors at 1776 D Street and into your hands just a few weeks ago! Thanks to the roaring enthusiasm shown following our launch at Continental Congress, the team has a mountain of Insignia orders to very happily fulfill. The messages of encouragement we have received have made the process of establishing our in-house Insignia operation even more rewarding.

Some of you were introduced to me virtually during Mrs. VanBuren’s executive report at Continental Congress, and since then, some of our staff have been able to return to the building! Our customer service team – composed of Jasmine, Octavius, and Siddia -- has been assisting with member inquiries. Our marketing coordinator, Sara, has been working on optimizing our online site and email platform. And our engraving associate, Diana, is busy engraving orders. We spent only a few jam-packed days together in the office before the store’s official launch, but thanks to the team’s diverse background in retail, fulfillment and engraving, we quickly found our working rhythm. It has been so exciting to be a part of this start-up operation.

If you haven't visited our online store yet, now is an excellent time to do so! In stock is a selection of exciting new releases, including the inaugural VanBuren President General's Project pin, along with several beautiful commemorative pins. While the opening inventory is temporarily limited due to pandemic-related manufacturing delays, new inventory will be added to the site as it becomes available. We plan to add additional items to our In-Stock Pins section every Tuesday by 10 a.m.! Check back each Tuesday afternoon to see what items are new to the store that week. We’ve also compiled the answers to some frequently asked questions to help you as you browse our new website.

I hope you feel the same pride when you receive your pins as the Insignia staff felt packing them! Placing each pin in our custom-designed boxes and wrapping it with care is a privilege, especially knowing the excitement the package will evoke when it is received. If you want to share your enthusiasm for the DAR Insignia Store, use hashtag #myDARbluebox on social media. We can't wait to see your photos and hear the stories of why DAR Insignia is important to you!

The entire DAR Insignia Store team is grateful for the support we have received since our launch. We look forward to helping you build and display your collection of DAR Insignia with pride.
