Exciting plans are underway to make history as we stage our first virtual Continental Congress, which promises to contain many uplifting and exciting moments. One that we have all been anticipating is the launch of our DAR Insignia Store, following the vote at last year’s Continental Congress to bring this operation inhouse. And so, while I hope that you will plan to join us for as many of the announced sessions as possible, I invite you to log in on Thursday, June 25, to learn more about the virtual launch of the Insignia store in particular.
I am deeply honored that the Inaugural DAR Insignia will be limited edition, specially stamped pins reflecting the Rise and Shine for America Administration. I am excited to soon open the DAR Insignia Store, introduce you to the Insignia Store team and display two of my favorite pieces: this administration’s President General’s Project and the beautiful America 250 commemorative pins. And more good news! Anyone who makes history by completing a purchase from the DAR Insignia Store on the Friday, Saturday, or Sunday of Continental Congress will be entered into a random drawing to win a $250 gift certificate! Stay tuned for more details closer to the store’s launch.
As I shared in my earlier Headlines from Headquarters blog, the DAR Insignia Store team remains focused despite challenges created by the pandemic. As I related, the shutdowns that impacted the economy unfortunately affected our plans, even though the DAR Insignia staff has worked remotely to continue progress on the store. (In fact, our two newest members of the Insignia staff have been working for weeks -- but have yet to set foot in our headquarters or meet their colleagues in person!) Our manufacturers were shuttered for nearly three months due to stay-at-home orders in their local regions. This dramatically reduced the number of pins that the store will be able to sell during its initial launch. Additionally, the pandemic delayed the planned receipt of Hamilton Insignia’s excess inventory, as their offices have been essentially closed. I hope that you will be understanding about these unanticipated delays – and that you will be patient as we do our best to bolster our inventory in the weeks and months ahead.
Be assured that the DAR Insignia Store has in stock several remarkable Inaugural DAR Insignia pins that are a worthy addition to any ribbon! And know that while the online DAR Insignia Store will launch with temporarily limited in-stock inventory, more pins (as well as other items) will be added to the store frequently as manufacturers return to full operation. The team is working on a “Coming Soon” section of the online store, which will allow you to stay updated on the pins that are on their way from the manufacturer.
The DAR Insignia Store team members are anxiously awaiting their return to DAR Headquarters to complete the final preparations for the launch of the store during Continental Congress. We look forward to delivering to each member a first-class shopping experience, top-notch customer service and jewelry-quality DAR Insignia that will reflect the pride we share as members of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
