A Mother's Day Tribute

This summer will mark the 100th Anniversary of the proclamation declaring the 19th Amendment ratified and part of the U.S. Constitution, forever protecting American women’s right to vote. American history was changed forever. Because of our country’s courageous suffragists more than 68 million women vote in elections today. DAR members were and are part of the ever-changing history of this country. We are now more than ever devoted to this great nation. During this time of crisis, Daughters have made well over a quarter of a million masks and other PPE items. We have volunteered at food pantries, served meals at food line stations, we have shopped and delivered groceries to the vulnerable. Many of our Daughters are working the frontlines as doctors, nurses, firefighters, police, EMT and many other essential occupations. Giving the gift of “The Daughters Tribute” honoring your special Daughter whether she is your mother, another relative, a special friend or a Daughter that inspires you is the perfect way to celebrate Mother’s Day, the DAR and our dedication to America. Share your special honoree, her lovely photo and her DAR story while supporting our beautiful home!

Launched in 2015, the Daughters Tribute electronic database, accessed via the National Society’s Digital Donor Wall, is a great way to honor the special DAR members in your life. The proceeds benefit the Guardian Trust Endowment which supports the preservation, restoration and conservation of our beautiful historic home and every donation you make is applied to your Heritage Club cumulative giving.

One such tribute was made in memory of Mabel Gertrude Booth Brewer by Wilma Helen Heckenlaible Spice.

Mabel Gertrude Booth Brewer (1872-1951). Charter member of the Mount Hyalite Chapter DAR, Bozeman, Montana, 1912. Served as Vice Regent of the Chapter (1923-1925). Also served as Registrar and Chair, Genealogical Records Committee, Mount Hyalite Chapter, for twenty years, 1928-1948, when she moved to California to be near her daughter and family. She often was hostess for Chapter meetings in her home. She presented several programs, including "Montana Laws Relating to Women." An accomplished musician, she provided music for Chapter meetings. Served as Chaplain of the State Conference in Bozeman in 1937. (Photo about 1911)

A Tribute is easy to do and will preserve stories like Mrs. Brewer’s for our descendants. Three giving levels were created to meet your budget:

$25 -- Honoree name and your name;

$50 -- Honoree name and photo, as well as your name; and/or

$100 -- Honoree name, photo and a 100-word biography/testimonial, as well as your name.
