Two weeks ago I invited Daughters like you to be a part of something truly different, a unique fundraising appeal in support of the President General’s Project. In this appeal, along with your donation to complete the funding for the Phase Two Renovations in DAR Constitution Hall, I am asking you to lend us your voice!
This campaign was devised as a way to provide you with the opportunity to add your thread to the fabric of NSDAR.
Each mailing includes a 3″ x 3″ fabric square. Let this be your blank canvas and take a moment to tell Daughters everywhere just what it is you love about DAR.
You can create your very own personalized patch for the quilt and add your voice to this project by writing a few words on the square about what DAR’s mission means to you, your hopes for the future of DAR, or a special message of inspiration for future Daughters.
Write about your dedication to Historic Preservation, your affection for Education, or your devotion to Patriotism. Thank a veteran, praise a teacher, or acknowledge the sacrifice of a member of our armed services. Write a memorial to a member who has passed, a quick “thank you” to a leader in your chapter or state, or a short message of encouragement to a leader in your community.
Once you have completed the message on your piece of our quilt, simply return the fabric square to DAR in the envelope provided no later than March 31. Your fabric square will be stitched together with those of your fellow Daughters to create three oversized display quilts that represent the three pillars of the DAR mission and will commemorate the completion of the Constitution Hall Phase Two renovations.
Your gift to the President General’s Project will help DAR continue to support the programs and special projects vital to preserving history, including the Phase Two renovations of DAR Constitution Hall.

These three quilts will be on display during the 127th Continental Congress in June, to symbolize the many Daughters who come together in service to our great nation.

In appreciation of your donation of $38 or more to the President General’s Project, you will receive a DAR Quilt Lap Blanket, as shown above. Designed to represent the display quilt featuring our commitment to Historic Preservation, this 46" x 54" DAR Quilt Blanket is soft and comfortable.
So grab your fabric square, pick up a ball point pen and express your passion for this Organization. And please don’t leave a hole in our quilt!
