#GivingTuesday: A Day to Give Back..An Investment in the Future

Following the gift purchases of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday is a day to give back. It is intended to encourage philanthropy at the beginning of the Holiday season as we celebrate our many blessings. 

As you know, each year we present an important and especially relevant project that needs your support. This year is no different. For tomorrow’s #GivingTuesday we are asking for your help to fund behind-the-scenes Constitution Hall renovations and C.A.R. Museum enhancements.  These include:

  • Updating our complex of buildings as we continue to upgrade the necessary HVAC systems in the area of Constitution Hall that houses C.A.R. and
  • Supporting the Children of the American Revolution as they work to upgrade and enhance their museum space

The back of Constitution Hall that houses C.A.R. is home to many important artifacts of the colonial era, American Revolution, and post-American Revolutionary War periods, such as books, clothing, illustrations and documents. The C.A.R. Museum has not received significant upgrades since the 1960's. This includes the HVAC system in the C.A.R. offices and museum space, which is out of date and must be replaced. The new HVAC will provide efficient and precise temperature and moisture control, which will ensure that C.A.R. Museum items are preserved for future generations.

Once this EPA-required HVAC replacement is complete, we will turn our attention to supporting C.A.R. in the advancement of their museum space as they work toward restoring original design elements, as well as reconfiguring and enhancing the functionality of this space.
