The NSDAR Department of Archives and History is excited to share with you the new online exhibition for Women of Resilience: DAR Service in World War I.

You can now view the online exhibit here: WomenOfResilience.dar.org.

Working on this exhibit was both exciting and inspirational, from discovering documentation about the work and service DAR members preformed during WWI, to creating the physical exhibition in the Americana Room, to now working on this digital version that will continue to live on in this online format.

We are so proud of this wildly popular exhibit and that we got to tell the stories of the resilient women who rose to the challenge, dedicating themselves to war relief activities that stretched from their living rooms to the battlefields of France, rendering service to their country worthy of their patriot ancestors. It has been so special to us that the exhibit inspired many of you to stop by the Americana Room and share your memories of loved ones who served in the war.

During the past two years, the DAR has participated in many WWI 100th anniversary events, which will conclude with the centennial celebration of the Treaty of Versailles this month (June 2019). We are so pleased to time the launch of this online exhibit to coincide with the conclusion of WWI Centennial commemorations.

We hope you find this online resource helpful for any future research on this topic! Special thanks to Octavo Designs for helping us create this digital exhibition. WomenOfResilience.dar.org
