Today’s DAR Blog Update

July 22, 2013

I hope you all are enjoying the Today’s DAR Blog so far. We have been making some tweaks and enhancement as we go to help make the user experience streamlined and enjoyable for everyone. I have been writing quite a bit and I feel as though I am starting to get into the swing of things!

We hope to make this blog a place where we can share important Society news and updates but also the amazing work of members as they Celebrate America! Please use the comments function to send in success stories about the service work your chapter is doing in your local community. Another idea we hope to explore is having guest writers featured on the blog. These individuals – such as our Executive Officers, National Chairs and Department Heads – will offer expertise in their particular subject area and will provide information for becoming a more informed and active member. We will be sharing fun and interesting stories we come across pertaining to DAR and I will also try to keep you up on what I am doing in my duties as your President General.

Please take advantage of all the blog has to offer. We hope you will explore the different pages on the blog, view the photos and use the helpful links to our Facebook, Flickr and YouTube pages as well as the GRS and the public and member websites. Many of you have sent wonderful blog comments and I hope you will continue to do this and also ask questions that you may come across in your DAR work. When I have a chance, I will try to gather some of the most frequently asked questions and answer them on the blog from time to time.

Encourage your fellow DAR members to subscribe to the blog and to visit the site often. Please note that to receive emails notifying you of new blog posts on the Today’s DAR Blog, everyone will need to subscribe to this new blog. Those people who were previously subscribed to Mrs. Wright’s blog will also need to re-subscribe to the Today’s DAR Blog because those subscriptions were unable to be automatically transferred over to the new blog. Subscribing is very easy to do by entering your email address in the center box at the bottom of this page.

We are continuing to work on the Today’s DAR Blog and explore other features that will help the blog become an amazing resource for our members. I appreciate all of your support as we continue to make these updates.
