National Committee Video Presentations Available

Ann Dillon, President General

I am excited to announce that our new National Committee Video Presentations are now available to view here. Our National Chairs have been hard at work with our Leadership Training Committee creating these new interactive and educational tools to help all members learn more about the important work of our National Committees.

Each year of the Administration, participating National Committees will create a new video with a different focus. This year, the videos center on the roles and responsibilities of the committee, how you can get involved at the state and national level, and the overall mission and goals of the committee. Each video will remain on the website throughout the Administration for easy reference and access.

These videos are designed to benefit the entire membership. Whether they help you learn something new about a committee you might have worked with before, or they inspire you to get involved in the work of a committee that is new to you – these videos are for everyone!

I encourage you to take advantage of this educational tool and use these videos as engaging chapter programming. These videos are around 15 minutes each and provide a quick way to enhance your chapter meetings and discussions. You will see that the committee videos are listed in different DAR focused categories: Historic Preservation, Education, Patriotism, Membership and Genealogy.

Has your chapter has been interested in getting involved with more education efforts but isn’t sure where to start? Simply scroll down to the “Education” section, select a committee video from that category, and start watching. These different categories will help you make video selections that best fit your chapter’s focus and interests.

Each presentation includes a video with audio dialogue. If you prefer to read the text and follow along with slides, download the PDF from the “Script” column and the PowerPoint form the “Slides” column and create your own in-person presentation.

If you have plans to attend the 126th Continental Congress, I encourage you to view these videos prior to coming to Congress and come to Service to America Night on Friday, June 30 with questions, feedback and stories for our National Chairs. These presentations are meant to spark ideas, encourage dialogue and inspire you to get involved!

I hope you and your chapters will enjoy this new useful tool to learn more about the exciting work of DAR’s National Committees and the many ways you can get involved.
